Position: The Devereux Center for Effective Schools (CES), located in the greater Philadelphia region, is committed to addressing the needs of children with and at-risk for developing emotional and behavioral disorders. The primary mission of the Devereux CES is to build capacity in schools and other child-serving organizations to improve educational and behavioral practices for youth and their families. This mission is accomplished through training, consultation, model program development and applied research.

Primary Activities: The Research Psychologist will serve as an applied scientist by consulting with schools and districts to improve school climate and student behavior; develop and implement training programs to promote evidence-based intervention; participate in the design and implementation of applied research; contribute to the implementation and dissemination of currently funded projects, collaborate on writing grant proposals; contribute to writing journal articles and book chapters; eventually generate independent funding through grant applications to federal, state or private (foundation) funding sources; and provide mentoring and supervision to less experienced staff.

Qualifications: Applicants must possess a doctorate (or ABD) in school psychology, clinical psychology, counseling, special education, or related field; experience in school settings; ability to oversee research/demonstration projects; training in applied behavior analysis; excellent writing skills and record of publication and/or local or national presentations; and strong communication and time management skills. Eligibility for psychology licensure is preferred. BCBA or BCBA-eligible is a plus.
