Created in 2014, Early Career Psychologists (ECP) Workgroup of APA Division 16 seeks to address the needs of ECPs within Division 16. The ECP Workgroup is currently accepting applications for the position of Membership and Outreach Chair and seeking one Member-at-Large.

Eligible candidates for these positions must: (a) be current members of Division 16 and (b) be ECPs, defined by APA as being within 10 years of receipt of a doctoral degree. The selected individuals will begin to serve in January 2017 for a two-year commitment.

The responsibilities of each position are described below.

Membership and Outreach:

  • Supports/plans activities to recruit ECP D16 Members
  • Serves as Liaison to D16 VP for Membership
  • Conducts needs assessments periodically to determine the needs of ECP members
  • Subscribes to and maintains a list of listservs beneficial for ECPs
  • Maintains a list of ECPs interested in supporting the workgroup
  • Disseminates information of interest to members via the Early Career Blog and biweekly Listserv digest in consultation with the Publications and Communications Chair
  • Organizes new member applications

Member-at-Large:

  • Attends ECP meetings
  • Collaborates on work group projects
  • May serve as the coordinator for special projects per the request of the committee chair or D16 leadership
