The University of Arizona is seeking a research specialist to assist in managing multiple grant-funded projects. Primary responsibilities will include facilitating and coordinating daily research study activities, overseeing recruitment and mentorship of trainees, and supervising undergraduate, graduate, and other staff team members. Through this project coordination role, the individual will work with the PI, department, sponsor, and institution to support the compliance, financial, personnel and other related aspects of the projects. This position will include scheduling for various meetings/professional development opportunities, maintaining follow up correspondence, and monitoring project activities. The position may also assist in archiving documents in an organized manner, handling confidential materials, processing student financial aid for a training grant, and monitoring deadlines for project reviews/updates.

There are two primary projects associated with this position—a training grant funded by the Institute of Educational Sciences (IES) and a research study examining a sleep intervention in youth with type 1 diabetes funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Other related project tasks may involve a sleep science curriculum and service and research associated with educating youth who are medically involved and their families.
