We are seeking a colleague to join our committed team of core faculty who prepare school psychologists at the specialist and doctoral levels. The ideal candidate will be committed to innovative pedagogy and experiential learning that values the success of diverse learners. Major responsibilities include: teaching courses in school psychology and related areas using a variety of instructional formats; advising, supervising, and mentoring student research and practice; contributing to the community engagement efforts of the program, department, college, and university; and developing and maintaining an active program of scholarship.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  •   Earned doctorate in School Psychology, Educational Psychology, Counselor Education, or closely related field. ABD will be considered (all degree requirements must be met within 6 months of hire).
  •   Hold, or be eligible for and willing to seek, licensure as a school psychologist through the Indiana Department of Education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  •   Successful teaching experience in higher education, with preference for teaching that demonstrates innovative pedagogy to meet the needs of diverse learners
  •   Demonstrated potential for developing an active program of scholarship, including supervising and mentoring graduate student research
  •   Evidence of commitment and potential to supervise graduate students’ community engagement and experiential learning activities
  •   Experience as a school psychologist, with preference for experience working with diverse populations
  •   Hold, or be eligible for and willing to seek, licensure as a psychologist through the Indiana State Psychology Board
  •   Expertise or specialization in systems-level consultation; multi-tiered systems of support; applied behavior analysis; crisis prevention/intervention; and/or statistics/research methods.

The Bayh College of Education is composed of three academic departments. The Department of Communication Disorders and Counseling, School, and Educational Psychology houses programs in the areas of School Psychology, School Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Counselor Education, and Communication Disorders. The Department’s academic and licensure programs are nationally accredited or approved by professional organizations including CAEP, APA, NASP, CACREP, and ASHA. The department also operates a number of specialized centers and clinics, including the Porter School Psychology Center, housed within the interdisciplinary Norma and William Grosjean Clinic. The school psychology program offers Ed.S. and Ph.D. degrees. The doctoral program is accredited by the American Psychological Association and both programs are approved by the National Association of School Psychologists.
