Rutgers University is happy to announce two exciting newly-available positions for state-level trainers/coaches (Senior Program Administrators) who will be responsible for training and supporting district teams and coaches in implementing multi-tiered systems of support in early reading (K-3).

In collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Education, Rutgers University is implementing the New Jersey Tiered System of Support for Early Reading (NJTSS-ER) Project sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs. The purpose of the project is to build capacity to implement multi-tiered support via strategic school personnel development that includes instructional coaching, evidence-based reading instruction and interventions, data-based decision making, and the use of technology tools. State-level trainers/coaches will provide training and support to teams from approximately 60 schools over the course of five years. The project will result in (a) increased state-, district-, and school- level leadership and high-quality professional development in NJTSS-ER; (b) increased fidelity of NJTSS-ER implementation; and (c) improved reading skills for students with disabilities and/or those requiring intervention.
