Unique Chapter Positions/Duties

Treasurer liaison between SASP and the student organizations at the university for funding requests—responsible for presenting to student government to get monies for the event and conference budgets. Celebration! This year they received $1000/semester to send students to local and national school psychology conferences!

Board Members are new additions to the chapter and are a space for first year students to get involved in the leadership by helping out where needed.

Special Events/Initiatives

Mentorship through connecting incoming students with existing students, inter-cohort socialization and communication is fostered. Celebration! This past year they hosted a mentorship mixer at the beginning of the year to give mentors and mentees a chance to mingle and branch out!

Professional Development they used their event budget to bring in guest lecturers from the Phoenix Center and Colorado Department of Education to give students a chance to learn more about LBGTQ students and trauma-informed schools.

National Suicide Prevention Week the University of Colorado Denver school psychology students took to the campus to table and sell pins for donations to the Second Wind Fund and later participated in a run/walk for the same organization! Celebration! They raised $200 for donation!

Supervisor Soiree students invite their field placement supervisors for dinner, a guest speaker, professional networking, and capstone presentations

Communication

Student Resources incoming students are provided with a Google Drive folder containing everything from de-identified reports to Praxis study materials!

Monthly Newsletter emailed out to the program and contains highlights from student research, events, community outreach, and student perspectives!
