The APA 128th Annual Convention in our nation’s capital is an opportune time to bring awareness to the challenges experienced by immigrant families within a restrictive immigration socio-political context and renew our commitment to embrace diversity and build pathways that promote their health and well-being.

This webinar will bring together stakeholders involved in creating awareness of the challenges faced by immigrant families. We will discuss immigrant family needs and strengths as border crossers and what it takes to face the new world system and cope with forced separation. Macro-level factors that contribute to immigrant families, youth and children’s psychological, social, economic, and behavioral challenges and available support services will be presented. An hour long cross-disciplinary expert panel discussion will be followed by a 50 minute individual case scenarios discussion.
