Are you coming to Washington, DC for APA in August? Then we have an exciting additional opportunity for you to develop skills you can use throughout your career! Please join us for an in-person training on social media and virtual or in-person advocacy best practices, Engaging with Lawmakers: Story-telling and Social Media Tactics. The training will immediately precede the August convention. There is no fee for the training, but you will have the option of enrolling for CEUs for a small fee. In 2.5 hours, the skills you will develop are transferable and can be used to convince officials to support the expansion of the mental health professional workforce in schools, and on any other issues you are passionate about!

When: August 2, 2023 from 1pm – 3:30pm ET.

Where: APA Headquarters, Washington DC

Description: Your professional training and experience give you unique insights into key issues facing the nation. You can use those insights to inform the government as it works on solutions for those issues. However, many people do not know where to start. This live training will explain what opportunities are available when getting started with advocacy, and then focus on how to make a compelling case to lawmakers and your peers in meetings, and on social media. There will be opportunities to practice these skills with fellow attendees through exercises during the training.
