The Department of Psychology at Central Michigan University (CMU) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August, 2025. The successful candidate will join our School Psychology Programs as well as a department with 22 faculty members. Responsibilities include (a) teaching graduate and undergraduate courses; (b) advising graduate and undergraduate student research; (c) maintaining an independent program of scholarly research; and (d) providing service to the department, college, university, community, and profession.
The School Psychology Programs at CMU are grounded in the scientist-practitioner tradition. Our Specialist Program is NASP-approved, and our Doctoral Program is APA-accredited. Although we are phasing out our Doctoral Program over the next few years, we are currently focused on expanding capacity of and enrollment in our Specialist Program. The Department of Psychology at CMU houses graduate programs in experimental psychology, industrial-organizational psychology, and school psychology. We have a robust undergraduate program with about 700 majors. CMU is in Mount Pleasant, Michigan and has a student body of about 14,000 students.

Required Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate in school psychology by time of appointment.
- Evidence of or potential for an independent program of scholarly research related to school psychology.
- Evidence of successful teaching.
Desired Qualifications:
- Doctorate in school psychology from an APA-accredited program.
- Expertise in school-wide practices to promote learning; promoting safe and supportive schools; family, school, and community collaboration; and/or equitable practices for diverse learners.
- Experience teaching and advising at the graduate level.
- Evidence of or potential for securing external research funding.
