Governors State University’s College of Education invites applications for one tenure-track, Assistant Professor in School Psychology to begin August 2017. The psychology programs are housed in the College of Education and in the Division of Psychology and Counseling. Psychology faculty support an undergraduate program (500 majors and minors), an M.A. program with two sequences (Clinical and Theoretical), and an Ed.S. in School Psychology. The GSU psychology program is seeking applicants who demonstrates a commitment to: effective, multicultural approaches to teaching and mentoring, serving underserved student populations, integrating peer and student feedback, and to working collaboratively and harmoniously with a diverse team of faculty.

Responsibilities for the school psychology position will include: coordinating and teaching in the school psychology program; possibly teaching undergraduate courses in psychology; maintaining an active scholarship agenda, and; service to the university, community, and the profession of psychology.

Minimum Qualifications:

Earned doctorate in School Psychology
Eligibility for licensure/certification as a School Psychologist in the State of Illinois
Experience as a School Psychologist in a K-12 setting

Preferred Qualifications:

Earned doctorate in School Psychology from a NASP or APA accredited program
Eligibility for or current certification as a Nationally Certified School psychologist (NCSP)
Teaching experience in a school psychology program
Experience in program administration of a NASP- or APA-accredited School Psychology program
Evidence of experience in teaching and mentoring graduate students
Experience teaching educational assessment
Experience in supervision of practica and internships
Experience with underserved student populations;
Ability to work independently and work collaboratively with groups:
Ability to integrate feedback;
Scholarship in the field of psychology
