The Department of Psychological Studies in Education in the College of Education and Human Development at Temple University is seeking to fill an open rank (tenured/tenure-track) faculty position in Counseling Psychology beginning Fall 2024. The department seeks candidates to join a faculty committed to supporting the professional development of equity-oriented, culturally diverse school counselors and professional counselors. The compelling candidate will demonstrate history or capacity for a scholarly productive research agenda, with an established record of publications and grants or potential for successful scholarship and attracting external funding for research. In addition to maintaining an active program of research, the responsibilities of the position include teaching graduate and/or undergraduate courses in both the school counseling and mental health concentrations of the counseling psychology program; advising graduate students; supervising practicum and internship students; teaching other departmental courses as needed; and participating in department, college, and professional service activities.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications include an earned doctorate (before Fall 2024) in school counseling, counseling psychology, counselor education or a related field; evidence of training and professional socialization in school counseling and the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model; strong research training; and certification or eligibility for certification for K-12 school counseling through the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Experience in teaching university-level courses, being licensed or eligible for licensure as a professional counselor or psychologist in Pennsylvania, along with strong organizational and administrative skills are preferred.
