Position:
The College of Liberal Arts invites applications for a tenure-track, 10-month Assistant Professor position for our Masters/Advanced Certificate Program in School Psychology beginning August 2015.
Qualifications:
Doctorate in School Psychology from a NASP-approved or APA-accredited program. ABD applicants considered, but appointment will be at the instructor rank and all degree requirements must be completed by February 1, 2016.
Responsibilities:
Faculty assigned an instructional workload of six (6) course units per academic year for the first year. Beginning the second year the workload reverts back to the standard instructional workload of seven to eight (7-8) course units. Teach courses for the school psychology graduate program including child/adolescent therapy using evidence-based approaches, multicultural counseling, preschool assessment and foundation courses such as developmental psychology. All graduate courses are taught late afternoon and evenings. Opportunity for summer teaching is available. Possess and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Demonstrate research competency as well as evidence that he or she will continue to grow his or her research agenda, leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals. Areas of research interest are open. Contribute to on-going development and evaluation of the NASP approved specialist- level graduate program. Student advising and participation on Department or University committees are also expected. The Psychology Department has almost 1,200 undergraduate psychology majors and 300 graduate students in five master’s degree programs, including school psychology, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, experimental psychology, and human resource development.
