IRIS is pleased to announce the posting of a new IRIS STAR Legacy Module: Early Childhood Behavior Management: Developing and Teaching Rules. Click the link to begin exploring.

Early Childhood Behavior Management: Developing and Teaching Rules features information on how to create developmentally appropriate behavior rules for early childhood classrooms so that they link to a given school’s behavior expectations. The importance of communicating with families about rules and expected behaviors is also stressed. The Module features audio interviews with experts ML Hemmeter, Co-Faculty Director of the Susan Gray School for Children at Vanderbilt University; and Amanda Peirick, Lead Teacher at Susan Gray School. Finally, this resource includes specific information that addresses the relevant DEC Recommended Practices (RP) topic areas related to Environment, Family, and Instruction.

As always, IRIS encourages you to share all of its materials (http://iris.peabody.vanderbilt.edu/) with your colleagues and students. If you have any questions concerning IRIS materials, please contact Kim Skow at 800-831-6134kimberly.a.skow@vanderbilt.edu, or iris@vanderbilt.edu
