The Department of Human Development & Psychoeducational Studies at Howard University is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure track position in School Psychology. The appointment is at either the Assistant or Associate Professor level and available for start in August 2015.
Position Details: Candidates can expect to work in a productive, collegial atmosphere centrically nested in the multicultural, scientific, and educational richness of the Washington DC metropolitan area. The NASP approved doctoral program in School Psychology, housed in the School of Education, is seeking student-oriented applicants who have completed an APA accredited school or clinical psychology graduate program and whose practice and/or research focuses on clinical neuropsychology or cognitive assessment. Responsibilities of the position include teaching graduate level courses in school psychology, advising masters and doctoral students, and supervising student research.
Candidate Details: The salary is competitive. Strong candidates for the position are those who: possess a proven track record of clinical experience/expertise, particularly with focus on neuropsychological evaluations and interventions in school settings; demonstrate potential/productivity in terms of research and external funding; and an ability to teach across these areas: school-based neuropsychological/cognitive assessment and intervention, clinical practicum. Candidates also must demonstrate a strong interest in, and commitment to, diversity and culturally responsive teaching, research, and practice. Other requirements include: an earned doctorate in school or clinical psychology or strongly related field, existing certification/licensure (or license eligibility). Preferred applicants will have prior professional experience and/or research interest in neuropsychology as related to learning and developmental conditions.
