Job Description

The Emory Autism Center (EAC) invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in the Emory University School of Medicine beginning August 1, 2015. The position is available for one-year with the possibility of renewal for a second year. This position will include training opportunities within the EAC School-age and Adult Programs with a particular emphasis on transition-age youth and their families. The Fellow will receive outstanding training in school-based consultative services for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), social and life skills intervention for adults with ASD, and assessment for transition-age youth and young adults. Additional activities may include individual psychotherapy for adolescents and adults with ASD, grant preparation, participation on interdisciplinary research teams, development of curricula for social skills groups, and technical assistance to institutions of post-secondary education. Fellows will receive outstanding clinical supervision from experts in the field of autism spectrum disorder and the fellow will be able to accrue supervised work hours toward professional licensure.

Qualifications

Appropriate candidates will have obtained their doctoral degree in School Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or related applied fields. Strong experience in assessment, intervention, and K-12 education for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is required. Candidates should possess excellent scientific writing ability, strong oral communication skills, and outstanding interdisciplinary teamwork skills. Candidates with a background in strong behavioral intervention methods and some experience with individual and group psychotherapy are preferred.
