CDSPP announces that it is time once again to nominate for its Executive Board.
As per the by-laws of the Council of Directors of School Psychologists, nominations and self-nominations are currently being solicited for two at-large positions on the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee is responsible for developing and representing organizational initiatives as well as responses to policies impacting training in school psychology, representing the organization to various other boards, promoting professional development activities for members and member organizations as well as other assigned duties. The two at-large positions are for a three year term on the Executive Committee, beginning August 1, 2015.
Nominations should be returned DIRECTLY to the secretary of CDSPP (linda.caterino@asu.edu) along with a brief (1-2 paragraphs) introduction/bio by May 17, 2015 in order to qualify for a preferential vote. Please do not post nominations or replies to the list. The final mail ballot for the two regular vacancies shall contain the four members receiving the highest number of votes by the executive committee. The final ballot shall be distributed by the Secretary of CDSPP to all members. All electronic votes (one per member program only) must be received by the Secretary with digital “postmarks” no later than June 20, 2015. The Secretary and at least one member of the Council designated by the Chair shall count the ballots and the Executive Committee shall be informed of the election results no later than August 1, 2015. The election results will also be announced to the Council member programs via the CDSPP list-serve and other appropriate outlets.

Descriptions of CDSPP Executive Committee Positions
The Chair is a 1-year term, after serving as Chair-Elect. The Chair is responsible for planning and facilitating ongoing Executive Committee conference calls. The primary role of the Chair is to coordinate the Mid-Winter meeting with assistance from the Executive Committee. The Chair establishes a focus for the meeting, presides over the meeting, oversees all aspects (agenda, speakers, registration, awards dinner, etc.) and troubleshoots problems. In addition, the Chair travels to DC three times for the CCTC/BEA meetings (March in the Chair-Elect year and October and March during the year as Chair).
The Chair-Elect is a 1-year term, followed by a 1-year term as Chair. The Chair-Elect supports the Chair in all CDSPP activities. The Chair-Elect will fulfill all duties of the Chair in the event that the Chair position is vacated. The Chair-Elect secures contract/terms for the upcoming Mid-Winter meeting, and assists the Chair with securing speakers and troubleshooting problems. The Chair-Elect travels to DC with the Chair for March CCTC/BEA meeting.
The Secretary is a 1-year term which is typically reappointed for a 2nd year for continuity. The Secretary is responsible for maintaining and updating the membership roll and maintaining the CDSPP listserv and website. The Secretary records the minutes of the Executive Board meetings and keeps all CDSPP files/reports. The Secretary organizes and oversees the election of new Board members, and assists in setting the agenda for the Mid-Winter meeting.
The Treasurer is a 1-year term which is typically reappointed for a 2nd year for continuity. The Treasurer acts as a banker, holding the funds deposited and paying them out on the order of CDSPP. The Treasurer provides account updates during ongoing Executive Board meetings. For the Mid-Winter meeting, the Treasurer coordinates registration; is responsible for the collection of all dues and registration fees; pays all bills for CDSPP, including hotel and restaurant bills; and creates name tags for registered participants to the Mid-Winter meeting. The Treasurer files taxes on behalf of CDSPP. The Treasurer handles all reimbursements for the CDSPP Executive Board members for the Mid-Winter meeting and other meetings (e.g., CCTC, BEA).
