Our setting provides ample opportunities for modeling to meaningfully and substantially further our interns’ development as health services psychologists. The mission of our Psychology Internship Program is to train doctoral interns in the core activities of general clinical practice with a forensic emphasis. Our interns (three (3)) are temporary (1 year) full time employees of the state of Colorado. The internship year begins on September 1st and ends on August 31st of the following year. This internship is committed to providing a workplace free from unlawful discrimination, harassment, or unwelcome behaviors based on age, ancestry, marital status, disability, national origin, race, religion, veteran status or sexual orientation. Respect for diversity is an integral part of the training program at all levels, including provision of content of training seminars, supervision of multicultural clinical practice with a diverse patient population; we emphasize intern self-awareness, and value differences among supervisors, interns and other staff.
CMHIP is located in sunny southern Colorado with an impressive view of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains and easy access to Colorado’s many outdoor activities.
