Dear School Psychology Community,
Although it has not yet been a week since the public release of the Independent Review, the activity within APA to address the Hoffman report has been significant. Below is a summary of some of the critical events.
- APA Past President Nadine Kaslow and President-Elect Susan McDaniel are serving as co-chairs of the Special Committee addressing the findings in the Hoffman Report.
- Several personnel changes have been announced: CEO Norman Anderson’s retirement date previously announced to the Board as December 2016 has been moved up to December 2015, Deputy CEO Mike Honaker will retire as of August 15, and Public Relations Director Rhea Farberman has resigned as of July 31, 2015. Archie Turner will be serving as the Acting CEO.
- There will be a Town Hall Meeting at Convention on Saturday August 8 from 3-4:30pm.
- If you are not attending the convention, members and the public can give feedback about the report at http://www.apa.org/independent-review/index.aspx
We recognize that it will be difficult for all of Council to digest all of the material and public comments before the August meeting, as such, we also invite you to contact us directlyHughesT@duq.edu and frankc@berkeley.edu with input you feel is critical.
Sincerely,
Tammy L. Hughes
