The Department of Psychology at Utah State University seeks candidates for two tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor positions to begin August 2016. Candidates are sought with research interests and teaching experience in one or several of the following areas: consultation; systems change; evidence-based interventions in the schools for academic, social, emotional, and behavioral problems; and multi-tiered systems of support to promote academic and social/emotional/behavioral success in the school setting. The candidates hired will be affiliated with the department’s NASP-approved EdS School Psychology program. The department also has plans to build a PhD program in School Psychology and is particularly interested in candidates who would bring excitement and experience to this process.

Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct research and other scholarly activities, including the pursuit of external funding;
- Teach undergraduate and graduate classes within area of expertise and department need. The typical departmental teaching load is four courses per year, but release from up to three courses per year is negotiable with external funding;
- Mentor graduate students on their research activities;
- Supervise graduate students in school-based practicum activities;
- Serve on the School Psychology program steering committee and engage in program development activities;
- Provide service contributions to the college, university, and department. Service activities might include sitting on relevant committees.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate degree by August 2016 in School Psychology or a closely related field;
- Completion of a doctoral internship by August 2016;
- Productivity (or evidence of productivity potential) in research and scholarly activities; for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor, a sustained record of scholarly activities / peer-reviewed publications, is required;
- Evidence of excellent teaching potential and ability to mentor students; for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor evidence of teaching / mentoring effectiveness is required;
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal skills;
- Eligible for educator licensure as a School Psychologist in Utah;
- Eligible for licensure as a Psychologist in Utah
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the K-12 schools;
- Completion of an APA-accredited school-based internship
