Position: The College of Education at Wayne State University is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track position in School Psychology and mental health counseling within the Division of Theoretical and Behavioral Foundations. The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in School Psychology and either the NCSP or state school psychology credential, as well as training and practice credentials in clinical mental health via either a CACREP accredited counselor education program or a counseling/clinical psychology program.
We expect to make the appointment at the Assistant Professor level, but will consider exceptional senior-level candidates with a strong track record of major external funding and peer-reviewed publications. Position start date is August 19, 2016. This position is a 9 month appointment. Salary and rank for position commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities: The ideal candidate must have the ability to: (a) develop and maintain a productive research program, including external funding; (b) supervise the thesis and dissertation research of graduate students; (c) teach courses in school psychology and mental health counseling; and (d) contribute to college and university service activities.
Qualifications: We seek to hire an exceptional scholar who can develop a program or research in an area broadly within fields including human development and behavior, education, and mental health. Applicants must have earned a doctorate by August 2016, show evidence of and/or strong potential for sustained peer-reviewed publications, have experience or strong interest in teaching and mentoring students, and have a strong commitment to scholarly collaboration with faculty within the school, college and university.
The College of Education contains four divisions: Administrative and Organizational Studies; Teacher Education, Theoretical and Behavioral Foundations, and Kinesiology, Health and Sports Studies.
