Degree and area of specialization:
Candidates must have an earned Doctorate in School Psychology or a related field and a record of applied practice and professional scholarship.
License/certification:
Candidate must also have credentials and experience sufficient to allow for full licensure as a psychologist in Wisconsin at the time of employment.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Candidates should have significant applied experience in assessment and intervention with children, adolescents, and college-age students. In addition, candidates should have experience consulting with school staff members, families, and community professionals. Experience in training and supervision of practicum students in school psychology is desirable.
Principal duties:
The Department of Educational Psychology at UW-Madison seeks a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor to join its School Psychology Program area. The individual hired for the position is expected to teach applied graduate courses in school psychology, including coursework in clinical skills and ethics and law for school psychologists; support clinic and school-based clinical practicum placement, training, and supervision of graduate students; develop undergraduate courses/practicum opportunities; serve on preliminary examination committees and dissertation committees; engage in professional activities such as conference presentations; and serve on department, program, and university committees as appropriate.
The School Psychology Program and Department of Educational Psychology are ranked among the best in the United States and the Program is accredited by the American Psychological Association. Madison, Wisconsin is one of the most livable cities in the United States.
