POSITION: Assistant Professor of School Psychology in the Department of School Psychology, Higher Education, and Counselor Education (Tenure Track)
JOB DESCRIPTION: Primary responsibilities for this exemplary school psychology position are teaching master’s and specialist level school psychology courses, advising MA and EdS students and contributing to the overall success of the School Psychology Program. Excellence in teaching is expected. Candidates must pursue a program of research and scholarship in their chosen area of school psychology and publish regularly in professional journals. Faculty members are expected to contribute to teaching, research, and service; first and foremost, and mentor students throughout their program of study.
QUALIFICATIONS: An earned doctorate in School Psychology from a NASP and/or APA accredited program and evidence of accomplishments or strong potential for success in teaching, research, publications, grant writing, and professional service are required. Preferred candidates show a commitment to training and preparing professionals who have expertise in education and psychology, who function as both mental health specialist and instructional specialist, and who provide data-driven, evidence-based, and culturally-responsive services to children and their families. Candidates are encouraged to provide evidence of work experience in a school setting (as an intern or practitioner) and scholarship and teaching expertise in at least one of the following areas: academic and/or behavior assessment and intervention, child psychopathology or diversity. Candidates that are eligible for licensure as a school psychologist in Ohio or as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist are preferred. Persons who have completed all but their dissertation may apply; however, applicants must have earned their doctorate by August 14, 2016. Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.
SALARY/COMPENSATION: The starting salary is commensurate with qualifications. The starting date is August 15, 2016. This is a nine-month, tenure-track appointment with possibilities of summer employment.
