The Graduate School of Education (GSOE) at the University of California, Riverside invites applications for an associate or full ladder faculty position (Associate or Full Professor) in School Psychology. The individual hired will also assume the role of program director of the School Psychology Program. GSOE is seeking a dynamic scholar and leader with a proven record of research and external funding. UC-Riverside was ranked second among all universities in the nation in 2015 by the Washington Monthly based on contribution to the public good in three areas: social mobility, research, and service. The UC-Riverside has ambitious goals for expanding its research mission, including adding 300 new faculty over the next five years. The position can commence as early as June 30, 2016 or as negotiated.
The APA-accredited and NASP-approved doctoral only program has an eco-behavioral orientation with a focus on the delivery of school psychology support in school settings. The program strives to provide students with both research and applied experiences in academic assessment and intervention, social/emotional/behavioral assessment and intervention, and mental health assessment and intervention. There is a specific emphasis on addressing academic, social/emotional/behavioral, and mental health needs within a multi-tiered framework. Our goal is to continue to expand the program by hiring a scholar who is able to conduct research related to academic and/or mental health service delivery in a K-12 setting. Scholars with an interest in conducting research related to students who are culturally or linguistically diverse or have an interest in urban populations are highly encouraged to apply.
Individuals who apply should be committed to assuming program director responsibilities and collaborating with existing faculty. Program director and associated duties include: maintaining APA accreditation, leadership in obtaining and supporting grant funding and research, mentoring student research, cross area-group and university collaboration, and evidence of participation in regional- and national-level organizations.
Minimum Qualifications include: Earned doctorate in School Psychology, credentialed school psychologist, experience as a faculty member in an APA-accredited School Psychology program, demonstration of an ongoing research program, demonstrated record of success in securing extramural funding, experience in directing and supervising dissertation research.
Preferred Qualifications include: Licensed or able to become licensed in California within 18 months, experience with APA accreditation process, and experience as program director. Academic rank will be contingent upon the individual’s level of accomplishments in scholarly activity, as well as experience securing and directly grants, teaching, mentoring graduate students, and service. Salary and research support will be commensurate with an appointment within the University of California system.
