The School Psychology program in the Department of Psychology at North Carolina State University (http://psychology.chass.ncsu. edu/pss/) invites applications for the position #00101149 Academic Professional/Director of the Psychoeducational Clinic (www.psychology.chass.ncsu.edu ). The Clinic Director oversees the operation of an assessment-oriented clinic that serves as a practicum site for our APA accredited Ph.D. school psychology program and provides services to children and young adults in the Triangle area. Assessments focus on learning, attention, social/emotional functioning, and memory for the purpose of developing strategies to support student’s academic progress. Clients range in age from pre-school through college and graduate school. The director is responsible for (a) overseeing the clinic’s operation, (b) developing and maintaining an income stream, (c) serving as a leader in training students, and (d) conducting psychoeducational/ psychological evaluations. The Director works in collaboration with school psychology faculty, administrative staff members, other Clinic-based licensed psychologists, and school psychology Ph.D.-level graduate students. This At-Will appointment is a 12-month faculty position (academic professional non-tenure track) that includes both administrative and supervisory roles in the school psychology Ph.D. program. The position reports to the Head of the Psychology Department.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in school psychology or child clinical and must be licensed as a psychologist and as a Health Service Provider in North Carolina. Prior training and experience with empirically supported practices, adherence to professional ethics, and a commitment to the scientist-practitioner model are required. Strong administrative and financial management skills are essential. Preference will be given to candidates with supervisory experience and expertise in evidence-based assessment for children and young adults enrolled in academic settings. In-depth experience with a variety of assessment instruments (for example, Wechsler scales including the Integrated, D-KEFS, NEPSY-II, CTOPP-2, WRAML-2) is essential as is experience with school-based decision-making procedures for identification of exceptional students. The preferred start date is June 15, 2016; however, this date is negotiable. This is a soft-money position, and the salary is commensurate with experience.
