Position Description 

The School Psychology Program at Texas State University seeks an energetic colleague to join our five full-time faculty members for a tenure track assistant professor position. This position will involve teaching, research, service, and program support in a National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) approved Specialist in School Psychology program.  Preferences include teaching and research experience in the practice of school psychology with diverse students, including English language learners.  Other duties will include program leadership, supervision of practicum and internship, student advisement and mentoring, maintaining an active research program, and service to the program, department, and university.

Qualifications

Required: Applicant must have a doctoral degree (conferred on or before August 15, 2016) from a recognized school psychology program approved by NASP or accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).  Applicant must be eligible for Texas licensure as a psychologist and a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP); demonstrate a record of, or potential for, research and publication at the national and/or international levels; have proficiency in the Spanish language; and have experience working in school psychology with English Language Learners including Spanish-speaking students. Also required is a theoretical orientation consistent with broadly defined school mental health service programs.

Preferred: University teaching experience, demonstrated competence in teaching in a variety of areas in school psychology, experience conducting ASD assessments, working in university-based clinics, supervision of practicum and internship students, student advising and mentoring, and certification from the National School Psychology Certification Board.
