The Department of Health Psychology in the School of Health Professions at the University of Missouri (MU) invites applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates will demonstrate a strong history of conducting applied behavior analytic research and teaching. Successful applicants will have a doctorate in behavior analysis, psychology, education, or related fields and will have demonstrated the potential for securing extramural research funding. Eligibility for Missouri licensure as a behavior analyst and a BCBA is required. This position will include collaboration with the MU Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders and the MU College of Education.
This faculty member will have the opportunity to participate in the development of our new Masters of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis and Graduate Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis programs. The aim of the programs is to train students to be exceptional scientist practitioners of ABA-based interventions. The faculty member will be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in behavior analysis as well as to mentor graduate students. Additionally, the faculty member will be expected to develop an independent line of research and secure extramural funding to support the research.
As part of the School of Health Professions in the MU Healthcare System, the Department of Health Psychology (http://shp.missouri.edu/hp/index.php) has a long tradition of excellence in clinical services, research, and training in psychological services based in medical settings — particularly neuropsychology, rehabilitation psychology, health psychology, pediatric psychology, and a new emphasis in applied behavior analysis. The faculty’s research programs intersect with our clinical services and have consistently garnered federal grant funding.
