The School Psychology Program in the Department of Teaching, Learning and Social Justice in the College of Education at Seattle University invites applications for an Associate/ Full Professor to join a core faculty committed to preparing ethical and reflective educators beginning September 1, 2017. This person in this position will have major responsibilities for coordinating the successful launch of a new PsyD program in the area of School Psychology.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, service, and maintaining an active scholarly agenda. Teaching may include face-to-face, online or hybrid courses, service learning experiences, course or curriculum design, continuous improvement activities, and student advising. Initial teaching-related activities will include teaching, course development, and facilitation of APA accreditation processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in graduate-level teaching, preferably in a doctoral program, expertise in mental health, and a research agenda that is situated in a social justice framework or has implications for social justice and school psychology.
Research and scholarship is defined broadly, recognizes multiple designs and methodologies, and includes grant writing. Research and scholarship includes the ability to support student inquiry in a professional practice degree. Service may include participation on professional advisory boards, developing relationships collaboratively with P-12 schools, a range of post-secondary institutions or community based organizations (for-profit, non-profit, NGOs), participation in professional associations, and service to programs, college and/or the university.

Required: An earned doctorate in school psychology or related field with a doctoral specialization in school psychology; School and/or clinical experience with children and adolescents; Ability to work and teach collaboratively in team settings; Experience teaching in a doctoral training program; License or license eligible as a psychologist in WA; Evidence of an established scholarly record that warrants appointment at the associate or full professor rank.
Preferred: Doctoral degree from an APA accredited program; Experience in online and hybrid course development; Knowledge and understanding of program assessment and curriculum development; Demonstrated knowledge of current literature and trends; Experience directing doctoral-level inquiry projects/dissertations with outcomes impacting problems of practice; Experience with APA accreditation.
