The School Psychology and Clinical Psychology Programs in the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology, Rutgers University are seeking an individual to fill the position of Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor (non-tenure track) in the Department of Applied Psychology with major responsibilities for the oversight of school and clinical psychology doctoral practica, the Rutgers School Psychology Internship Consortium, and other school psychology doctoral internships. The School Psychology and Clinical Psychology Psy.D. Programs are APA accredited and the School Psychology Program is also NASP approved. The Rutgers School Psychology Internship Consortium is an APPIC member and is seeking APA accreditation.

Responsibilities of the position will include:

  • Coordinating and providing oversight for doctoral school-based and clinical setting practica, including developing new practicum sites as needed, site visits to practica, as well as coordination and oversight of practicum supervision groups and site-based practicum supervision;
  • Serving as Director of the Rutgers School Psychology Internship Consortium, providing leadership for the APA accreditation process, and coordinating other doctoral internships in school psychology compliant with CDSPP guidelines;
  • Developing and coordinating practicum and internship graduate student and site information and evaluation data management systems;
  • Serving as primary advisor to graduate students concerning practicum and internship issues, including the placement practicum placement process, application to the APPIC Internship Matching Program, and application to other internship sites;
  • Conducting practicum supervision/training groups for all first year students, an advanced practicum supervision group for second and third year school psychology students, and the Rutgers School Psychology Internship Seminar;
  • Participating in evaluation of student progress and competencies;
  • Engaging in clinical scholarship that is disseminated via conference presentations, journal articles, and/or book chapters.

Qualifications include:

  • A doctorate in school or clinical psychology;
  • Licensed or license-eligible for the independent practice of psychology in New Jersey;
  • Certified or eligible for certification as a school psychologist in New Jersey;
  • Professional experience in development and coordination of practicum and internship experiences, supervision at the doctoral training level, and delivery of psychological services;
  • Professional contacts in schools, mental health organizations and professional associations that can facilitate the development of new practicum and internship sites, or demonstrated potential to develop such contacts;
  • Strong commitment to professional training of school and clinical psychologists and service delivery to underserved and diverse populations;
  • A record of or potential to engage in clinical scholarship.
