The Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor with expertise in conducting research with school-aged children to begin August 2018.

The mission of the School Psychology Program is to train clinically-skilled PhD level scientists who are prepared for careers in research and practice. The program is accredited by the American Psychological Association and approved by the National Association of School Psychologists. To complement our four existing program faculty, we seek a scholar with research expertise in evidence based intervention and whose research agenda would help supplement the skills that students learn through our highly-regarded School Psychology Clinic. RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful applicant will be expected to maintain a high-quality research program, seek external funding, serve as a research mentor for students, direct theses and dissertations, participate in faculty governance, and contribute to the collegial community of the School Psychology Program and larger Department of Educational Psychology. This position requires teaching the equivalent of two courses per semester in the program or department. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications include an earned doctorate at the time of employment with a specialization in school psychology, child-clinical psychology, or a closely related field; a strong record of scholarly research, and evidence suggesting strong promise for securing external funding to support that research. Eligibility for licensure as a psychologist in the state of Georgia within two years of hire is preferred.

APPOINTMENT:

Appointment effective August 2018.
