The Lynch School of Education at Boston College announces a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level in our Department of Counseling, Developmental and Educational Psychology. The scholar will join a vibrant community of scholars that integrates research, practice and policy to respond to the challenges of a diverse and rapidly changing world. What unifies our work is the underlying aspiration to enhance the human condition, to expand the human imagination and to make the world more just.
Applicants should have a background in counseling/clinical psychology, espouse a developmental focus, and maintain a strong research program in work that has the promise to generate external funding. We are looking for a colleague whose scholarship focuses on children and/or adolescents in K-12 school settings and who can integrate a broad and innovative vision of prevention and intervention in promoting the well-being of the whole child in context. Priority will be given to applicants whose work focuses on how children and school personnel navigate complex social, psychological, and educational domains, and who can communicate their work to broad audiences as well as to scholars and students. Of particular interest are applicants with the expertise to prepare psychologists and counselors for work with the increasingly diverse populations within U.S. schools. Further priority will be extended to those applicants who can teach courses in our Master’s in School Counseling program, and who can enhance the child-focus of our Master’s programs in Mental Health Counseling and Applied Developmental and Educational Psychology. Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in counseling, clinical child psychology or a related field and have an established record of scholarly publications. Applicants should be license eligible as a Psychologist in the State of Massachusetts. Applications are especially encouraged from persons who would enhance the diversity of the faculty.
