Texas Tech University seeks a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Educational Psychology/School Psychology starting in August 2018. The School Psychology Specialization of the Educational Psychology Program is seeking a qualified individual to join a productive faculty that includes scientist practitioners of School Psychology.

The School Psychology Specialization of the Educational Psychology Program emphasizes the design, implementation, and investigation of evidence-based prevention and intervention practices, especially Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), to address student learning, social-emotional development, behavioral performance, instructional methodology, school practices, and classroom management for all P-12 students. The School Psychology Specialization partners with area rural school districts to support intervention and mental health services, which offers unique opportunities for practicum and internship supervision, applied research, and support of diverse populations.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have:

  1. a doctorate in school psychology, educational psychology with a specialization in school psychology, or another field of psychology with specialized training in school psychology;
  2. credentials allowing for licensure as a specialist in school psychology in the State of Texas;
  3. demonstrated ability to conduct research in school psychology; or
  4. Evidence of an established scholarly record that warrants appointment if at the rank of associate professor; and
  5. a commitment to serving diverse populations.

Preference will be given to candidates with degrees from NASP and/or APA accredited programs, especially those with licensure or eligibility for licensure as a psychologist in Texas certification or eligibility for certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, public school experience, demonstrated ability to publish research in school psychology, and graduate teaching experience.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include:

  1. Teaching School Psychology Specialization graduate courses
  2. Conducting research that meaningfully contributes to the field and practice
  3. Supervising student research and practice in a manner that promotes their synthesis
  4. Obtaining external funding to support research and practice
  5. Contributing to the advancement of specialization and program goals through service
  6. Partnering with local and area school districts to ensure meaningful research, teaching, and practice
