Position Announcement:  Full-time Assistant Professor, School Psychology

Summary of Responsibilities:  Primary academic responsibilities will be in the candidate’s area of expertise. The candidate will also contribute to the cross-disciplinary needs of the Department, including but not limited to (a) teaching graduate courses in the School Psychology program (b) maintaining a record of scholarly productivity through peer-reviewed publications and presentations, and providing service to the profession, community, department, college, and university.

Minimum Education:  An earned doctorate from a NASP-approved program in School Psychology, or ABD (all requirements for the doctorate must be completed by August, 2018).

Minimum Experience:  Expertise and experience in psychoeducational assessment and the delivery of school-based prevention and/or intervention programs

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Evidence of potential for establishing a record of publication and scholarship.
  • Evidence of promoting and supporting diversity and social justice.
  • Willingness to accommodate a variety of learning styles and strategies in instructional delivery and learning activities, including online and blended learning, flexible teaching methods, and applied learning approaches.
  • Evidence of communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse students and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty and professionals.

Required Licenses, Certifications, & Registrations:  Licensure as a psychologist/ eligibility for licensure as a psychologist in Kansas, National certification as a School Psychologist by NASP

Preferred Experience:

  • Professional experience in PK-12 schools
  • Evidence of successful teaching experience in a NASP-approved program
  • Knowledge of NASP standards.
  • Successful experience working with diverse populations.
