THE UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-MADISON DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY invites individuals to apply for an open rank tenure-track position in its APA-accredited School Psychology Program to begin August 2018. A PhD from an APA-accredited school psychology program with a completed school/clinical internship (APA-accredited or the equivalent) is preferred, although applicants with a degree from an APA-accredited Clinical Psychology or closely related field, will be considered. The successful candidate will demonstrate a history of high-quality teaching, student mentoring, and research productivity supported by external funding or potential for securing external funding. Eligibility for licensure as a psychologist in Wisconsin is highly preferred and strongly recommended. Additionally, those with Doctoral Board Certification in Behavior Analysis are encouraged to apply.

We are seeking applicants whose research, training and teaching reflects a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice and scholarly research related to one or more of the following areas:

  • Prevention and early intervention
  • Academic assessment and/or intervention
  • Diversity and/or educational disparities

Applicants should also have an interest and relevant background for teaching core courses in the School Psychology Program at the graduate level and for developing undergraduate courses in one or more of the areas listed. Members of underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Maintain a coherent and productive program of research.
  2. Maintain publication activity in high-quality journals.
  3. Seek and secure external funding to support research and personnel preparation training grants.
  4. Supervise graduate student research and provide high quality academic advising and mentoring.
  5. Provide professional service at state and national levels and institutional service at program, department, and school levels commensurate with rank.
  6. Teach graduate and undergraduate courses (2:2 load) and contribute to program development.
  7. Extend scholarship to underrepresented groups.

The UW-Madison APA-accredited School Psychology Program (https://edpsych.education.wisc.edu/academics/schoolpsychology/) is housed in the Department of Educational Psychology (http://edpsych.education.wisc.edu), along with programs in Human Development, Learning Sciences, and Quantitative Methods. The Department of Educational Psychology has consistently been ranked the #1 Department of Educational Psychology and the School of Education is ranked as the #1 public School of Education in the nation in U.S. News & World Report. The School Psychology Program also has strong ties with The Waisman Center, Wisconsin Center for Education and Research (WCER), Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and several local school districts. Appointment:

This is a nine-month tenure-track appointment beginning August 2018. Salary and start-up package are competitive and commensurate with rank, qualifications, and program of research.
