TULANE UNIVERSITY, DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY in the School of Science and Engineering, announces an opening for a PROFESSOR OF PRACTICE in SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY starting in July 2018. The Professor of Practice is a renewable three- year regular faculty position that is devoted to teaching and does not lead to tenure. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in School Psychology from an APA accredited program; eligibility for licensure and certification in Louisiana; and evidence of teaching experience. Individuals with a Ph.D. in Child Clinical Psychology may also apply if there is evidence of significant school-based training and experience. Specific responsibilities of the 9-month appointment include teaching three courses per semester, including graduate courses, practicum supervision, and an undergraduate course in Abnormal Psychology. Potential graduate courses and associated practicum supervision include Psychological Assessment I (cognitive) or II (emotional/behavioral), Behavioral and Cognitive-Behavioral Intervention, and Cognitive-Behavior Therapy. Active participation in program development and training initiatives is also expected.

The School Psychology Program is housed within the Department of Psychology, which consists of 21 full-time faculty, 7 of whom serve as core faculty in the School Psychology Program. The Program offers the Ph.D. degree and is accredited by the American Psychological Association. The Program is guided by an ecologically-grounded scientist- practitioner model of training, with particular emphasis on the contexts of development and culture. Practicum training takes place in a range of settings, including public schools, a campus-based clinic, and community health and mental health settings.
