The proposed special focus shall include interdisciplinary efforts to prevent behavioral and emotional disorders in early childhood. The editors for the special issue include a special education professor with expertise in prevention and intervention with children with or at risk for behavioral problems and a prominent psychiatry professor and Associate Dean who has completed extensive work with early childhood intensive prevention and intervention grants. The special focus shall include articles on multiple topics including the creation of interdisciplinary prevention efforts on a wide scale within a local community, the importance and strategies to increase early screening using evidence based tools, and coordinated and systematic ways to create sustainable change in different early childhood settings. Manuscripts should be original work not currently submitted for publication to other journals. Authors must follow the guidelines of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (Sixth Edition). Manuscripts may not exceed 35 double-spaced pages in length, including the cover page, abstract, references, tables, and figures. Avoid including any identifying author information in the text. Selection of manuscripts is based on blind peer review. Include a cover page with the following information: the title of article, author(s) full name(s), title(s), institution or professional affiliations, and mailing and email address of primary author. The cover page will not be sent to reviewers.
