EMPLOYER INFORMATION:
Metropolitan Preparatory and Laureate Day Schools are a private therapeutic day school campus that provides educational and social/emotional services for students in grades K-12 with unique learning and mental health needs. A full-service campus, we support students in the areas of emotional and behavioral regulation, communication, social skills, academic performance, independent functioning, and occupational therapy/sensory in order to best meet their goals. Our staff includes clinical coordinators, educational coordinators, speech language pathologists, special education teachers, teaching aides, reading and learning specialists, social workers and counselors, and music and art therapists. We also offer pet therapy.

PURPOSE:
Under the supervision of two licensed clinical psychologists, the post-doctoral psychology fellow is responsible for working within our diagnostic department. This includes performing clinically oriented comprehensive assessments for students who may or may not currently have special education needs. Sample assessment instruments include but are not limited to WISC-V, WJ-IV, KTEA-3, NEPSY2, D- KEFS, BRIEF, BASC-3, ASRS, along with a variety of projective and personality measures as appropriate (e.g., TAT, House-Tree-Person, Rorschach, and Sentence Completion). The target population includes students from within the school’s three programs (ages 5 – 21) and has the potential to include (but is not limited to) the following DSM-V eligibilities: ADHD, IEE, ODD, CD, RAD, ASD, and DMDD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, the results of which will be used to inform decisions about special education eligibility and placement;
• Consult with team members and stakeholders to support students’ needs;
• Engage in safety assessment and intervention as needed;
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to produce timely, high-quality evaluation reports,
including testing results, diagnoses when appropriate, and individualized recommendations;
• Participate in regularly scheduled, face-to-face individual supervision
• Perform other duties as directed by the diagnostic coordinator and/or clinical director.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
• Doctoral degree in School or Educational Psychology (or a Related Endorsement) with current state credentials to practice as a school psychologist (Type 73).
