The Winthrop University Psychology Department is pleased to announce an assistant professor of psychology position with an August 2019 start date. The position will include teaching and supervising in our NASP-approved Specialist in School Psychology Program and some undergraduate teaching in related areas of specialization, along with scholarship and service.
The School Psychology Program has a long history of strong support from the university, which values teaching, mentoring/supervision, scholarship, and stewardship, and from area school districts and agencies. It has four core program faculty and attracts diverse applicants from around the country. There are currently 36 full-time students (12 per cohort) in the program. Winthrop is a public, comprehensive university of just over 6000 students (about 1000 graduate students) with a diverse student body (approximately 37.5% minority). Its location in the greater Charlotte area and proximity to the Appalachian Mountains to the West and Atlantic coast to the East makes Winthrop’s location in Rock Hill, SC ideal.
