Baltimore City Public Schools (City Schools) is seeking certified school psychologists (or Maryland eligible) for current openings and for the 2019-2020 school year to join our 150 current school psychologist staff.  We are an innovative, urban district, serving a diverse population.  Our ratio is one (1) school psychologist per 850 students.

Baltimore City surrounds the Inner Harbor (think Ft McHenry and the Stars Spangled Banner), is close to DC and NYC.  The state is bordered on one side with mountains and on the other by the Atlantic Ocean.

Our staff are involved in counseling, consultation, testing, leadership, research and special programs such as the Prevention and Intervention for Early Learners (PIEL), created by school psychology, which has achieved state and national recognition for improving the lives of our students. We have a diverse staff who come to us from many training programs and states and staff who speak languages such as Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Haitian, French, Urdu, and Hebrew. We formed the Culturally and Linguistically Diversity Minority Recruitment Team who introduce our profession to middle/high school students and undergraduate college students and help design workshop on issues of diversity and equity. We encourage leadership and the NASP delegate, state president, and president-elect, are on our staff along with committee chairs and members.  We have an active internship program at the specialist and doctoral level. Ongoing training is provided. Staff can move up quickly on the pay scale with an incentive program.

If you are interested in working in an urban school environment with the opportunity to be involved, please send an email to:  Dr. Rivka I. Olley at riolley@bcps.k12.md.us to inquire about positions.
