The successful candidate will play a strong role in teaching and service. As a full-time TLS faculty member, the Visiting Assistant Professor of Practice of School Psychology will participate in all faculty activities such as advising students, participating in admissions activities, and attending department meetings. This position may also include the opportunity for postdoctoral supervision hours toward psychology licensure.
Position Summary
The University of Denvers Morgridge College of Education (MCE) invites applications for a one-year, nine-month Visiting Assistant Professor of Practice of School Psychology in the Child, Family, and School Psychology (CFSP) Program in the Department of Teaching and Learning Sciences (TLS). This is a benefited, full-time, one-year visiting appointment for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Our Program mission is to provide students with the knowledge and skills relevant for collaboration with diverse families, students, educators, and professionals to meet the educational and mental health needs of all students and families within a rapidly changing, global society based on a strong understanding of the interrelationship between environmental, neurobiological, and cultural influences on development.
In sum, our training model is designed to prepare professional psychologists who are well grounded in the science of psychology; work in academic, research, and applied settings; emphasize child and family services in an educational setting; and have a social justice and ecological orientation. Required Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in School Psychology or related area by the start of the appointment.
- Experience working in or with P-12 schools with exceptional populations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of general and special education.
- Demonstrated knowledge of 0-21 student population, typically and atypically developing.
- Demonstrated commitment to or experience working with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience in higher education.
- Knowledge of a variety of teaching methods, approaches and/or curricular perspectives to effectively engage diverse populations and learning styles.
- Licensed as a health provider psychologist through DORA.
- Licensed as a school psychologist through CDE, or holds NCSP.
