The School Psychology Program, in the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology, at Rutgers University invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track appointment, at the rank of assistant or associate professor, for Fall 2020. Our APA-accredited and NASP- approved Psy.D. program prepares students to provide school psychological services that are evidence-based, culturally-responsive, collaborative, and coordinated with other educational and health services.

In recognition of the importance of coordinated, integrated behavioral and mental health care and the link between health problems, mental health problems, and learning, we seek candidates interested in sustaining and expanding our current initiatives in these areas. Specifically, we seek candidates with a focused interest in developing doctoral training (coursework and practica) and developing research in behavioral health. It is also anticipated that the successful candidate will lead efforts to increase collaboration with departments and other entities across the Rutgers campus, such as the medical school and other health professions units, and to promote training opportunities for our doctoral students within medical and related settings.

Candidates are expected to have demonstrated effective teaching in an area relevant to provision of psychological services for children and adolescents or school psychology, along with a documented program of research in one or more of the following areas: a) child and adolescent behavioral health; b) pediatric school psychology; c) systems approaches to psychological service delivery for children and adolescents; and d) child and adolescent health disparities and differential access to high quality care. It is expected that the successful candidate will also be eligible for psychology licensure in New Jersey and will exhibit a commitment and ability to prepare students to work with individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds. We strongly encourage applicants who would enhance the diversity of our faculty.
