The School of Graduate and Continuing Studies at Alfred University is delighted to announce that we are searching for two full-time tenure-track positions (one open rank and one Assistant Professor position). Specific duties and responsibilities will include teaching nine credit hours per semester of graduate coursework (i.e., 3 courses), as well as supervision of doctoral dissertation committees.  Reductions in teaching load may be considered where special research, supervision, professional, or administrative responsibilities exist. Faculty will be expected to engage in graduate student recruitment and advising, as well as participate in a conscientious, collegial manner in the life of the University and the broader profession of the field of school psychology. Instruction in the Specialist program may include online or hybrid courses and remote instruction to, or from, a secondary campus.

Candidates for each position should have an earned doctorate from an APA-accredited doctoral program in School Psychology or a closely related field.  While candidates with a doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology may be considered, qualified candidates should have a clearly expressed interest in training future school psychologists and the professional issues of the field. Areas of expertise that will be positively viewed include behavioral assessment and intervention, academic development and intervention, research methodology and statistics, or rural school psychology. Applicants with state license for independent practice or whom are seeking licensure are preferred. Applicants from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
