The Division of Psychology and Behavioral Health at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking to fill one full-time faculty position for a clinical-researcher with a focus on ADHD or learning challenges.

Division of Psychology and Behavioral Health at Children’s National

The position will have a primary appointment in the Division of Psychology and Behavioral Health at Children’s National with an appointment as an Assistant or Associate Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and Pediatrics, at the George Washington University School of Medicine; rank and tenure track commensurate with experience.  This combined research and clinical position focuses on the expansion of our ADHD/learning clinical and research programs. Specific specialty area within the area of ADHD, learning, and/or school behavior is flexible. It is anticipated that primary duties will be growing a research program while also advancing clinical care for youth with ADHD.

Candidates with a track record of funding and interest in an externally funded clinical research career are strongly encouraged to apply.  Start up package includes funds for pilot work. The Children’s Research Institute has a prestigious Clinical and Translational Sciences Award (CTSA) that provides outstanding resources to support and enhance research efforts. There are also numerous opportunities for collaborative research with established researchers in the institution and a large emphasis is placed on advancing behavioral research.

The Division of Psychology and Behavioral Health is fully integrated into pediatric subspecialty areas and has close working relationships with Psychiatry and Primary Care. The Psychology Division has a large and diverse faculty who oversee an APA accredited internship; we place a strong emphasis on equality and diversity of faculty and trainees.  All faculty members supervise predoctoral interns and many also choose to supervise graduate level externs and postdoctoral fellows.

Requirements

Specific clinical training and expertise in child clinical psychology and a PhD (or equivalent degree), completion of an APA accredited internship and postdoctoral fellowship are required. Applicants must hold a DC license prior to start date yet current fellows with excellent research training will be considered.
