JOB SUMMARY
Dr. Sandra M. Chafouleas is seeking candidates for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work with her on various federally and internally funded projects in school and child health. The postdoctoral research associate will work primarily within the UConn Collaboratory on School and Child Health (CSCH). The CSCH mission is to facilitate innovative and impactful connections across research, policy, and practice arenas relevant to school and child health. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be responsible for working with Dr. Sandra Chafouleas to conduct research on various CSCH projects, most specifically related to the “Think About the Link” materials. Functioning somewhat independently, the Postdoctoral Research Associate will hold roles in data management and analyses, supervision to undergraduate and graduate team members, and preparation and dissemination of materials. In addition, roles may include project management related to Dr. Chafouleas’ federally funded projects in school systems support for social, emotional, and behavioral well-being.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ph.D. in clinical, community, school, or educational psychology; special education; social work; public health; or a related field by the anticipated start date of summer 2021.
- Demonstrated skills with education-focused research methodologies.
- Expertise and interest in (1) school systems implementation of policies and practices to support whole school and child well-being, and (2) research-based social, emotional, and behavioral strategies across the promotion to intervention continuum.
- Commitment to research that advances educational equity and inclusion, and reduces disparities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Documented independence in use of education-focused research methodologies
- Documented independence in applied research projects involving schools
- Demonstrated experience with dissemination of research relevant to policies and/or practices that support whole school and child well-being
- Prior experience in all aspects of project management, including supervision of undergraduate and graduate research team members
- Strong oral and written communication skills
APPOINTMENT TERMS
This is a one-year end date position, which may be renewed pending funding and performance.
