On behalf of the writing team and all the major school psychology organizations, we are writing to share the School Psychology Unified Call for Deeper Understanding, Solidarity, and Action to Eradicate Anti-AAAPI Racism and Violence. After releasing our previous statement, we received constructive feedback about missed opportunities to address key points and through our collaborative discussions over the course of several weeks, the team agreed on the need for a more comprehensive statement. This statement reflects the culmination of a cross-organizational writing effort led by two incredible graduate student scholar-activists to address the critical need for a deeper understanding, solidarity, and action to eradicate the recent rise in anti-AAAPI racism and violence in our country.

As school psychologists, we possess considerable power to change oppression systems and commit to diversity, equity and inclusion in action. To help us commit to actions that we might take on both an individual and system-level, we offer our thoughts for consideration and look forward to a sustained dialogue in our field. We hope that this statement serves as one helpful tool for transformative learning and facilitating courageous conversations about racial and social inequalities. We hope that you will share this statement widely within your networks and encourage others to do the same.

We also invite you to engage with us in sustained dialogue about how to support AAAPI communities, and all communities of color, in the field of school psychology and beyond. To this end, we have included a link in the document to a feedback form that we will be checking on a regular basis.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this critically important document and for your continued commitment to social justice and anti-racist practices.
