The Department of Educational Psychology at Texas A&M University invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track faculty position within its APA-accredited Counseling Psychology Program. The appointment is open at the Assistant or the Associate Professor rank. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to participating in the program’s existing telepsychology infrastructure, including Telebehavioral Care Program (TBC), which has expanded from a single access point in 2009 to a network of over 14 access points in 10 counties located in community resource centers, primary care clinics, jails, and schools. Additional telepsychology services are also offered at the department’s community-based Counseling and Assessment Clinic. A successful candidate is expected to develop a systematic research program that builds upon existing interdisciplinary collaborations and telehealth initiatives with colleagues across campus (including current and emerging projects with colleagues from public health, medicine, nursing, engineering, architecture, veterinary medicine and education). Applicants should have demonstrated expertise or potential in obtaining extramural funding, capitalizing on the existing funding portfolio and research projects at the TBC. Evidence of dedication to high-quality graduate teaching, supervision and mentoring is expected. To date, the TBC has trained over 100 health service psychology doctoral and masters students, and numerous students from community health, public health, architecture, nursing, and medicine. The program, department and college are especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service.
Applicants should have a doctoral degree from an APA-accredited program in counseling psychology, or from school or clinical psychology. Applicants must be license-eligible or pursue licensure in Texas. The Counseling Psychology Program (http://cpsy.tamu.edu) is housed in the Department of Educational Psychology (http://epsy.tamu.edu). The department is home to accomplished faculty committed to the university mission as a Research-intensive institution, who participate in doctoral programs in School Psychology (APA accredited), Special Education, Bilingual/ESL Education, Research, Measurement, and Statistics, and Learning Sciences. Responsibilities:
- Maintain a coherent and productive program of research that supports the counseling psychology program and its students, and strengthens its commitment to telepsychology research, training and service.
- Maintain publication activity in high-quality journals.
- Supervise graduate student research.
- Seek and secure external funding to support research, personnel preparation, and/or outreach.
- Provide professional service at state and national levels and institutional service at program, department, and college levels.
- Teach, provide clinical supervision, and mentor graduate students.
- Work to extend research efforts to diverse populations.
Appointment:
This is a nine-month tenure-track appointment beginning September 1, 2022. Salary and start-up package are competitive and commensurate with rank, qualifications, and program of research.
