The Department of Educational Studies in Psychology, Research Methodology, and Counseling at the University of Alabama invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2022.

Minimum qualifications include (1) a doctoral degree from an APA and/or NASP accredited school psychology program, and (2) eligibility for certification as a school psychologist and/or licensure as a psychologist in Alabama, as well as a commitment to obtain these state credentials if hired. We are seeking candidates with a research background related to social media use, networking, bullying, victimization, and/or peer relations—especially as they pertain to the psychosocial development of diverse, marginalized, and historically excluded students. Candidates should have evidence of, or be able to demonstrate potential in, developing a comprehensive and sustained agenda of research, scholarship, and grants in school psychology. Candidates also should have a strong commitment to diversity, social justice, and culturally responsive practices in research, teaching, and mentorship.
