Job Summary

The Center for Children & Families is searching for a Research Coordinator to join their team in Buffalo, NY. This position will  coordinate the study-related interventions and the monitoring and management of these interventions in school and community settings. The interventions are included within a study of school-based positive behavior supports for children with Attention-deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in general and special education, positive behavior supports for kinder-garden students who are at-risk for school or social difficulties, and a parenting program for male caregivers of pre-school aged children; Monitors and utilizes study-related procedures with a caseload of research participants; meets with participants, reviews the informed consent to participate, completes study interviews to ensure enrollment criteria are met; collects study data, and  supervises staff who conduct behavioral observations of children in the studies and maintains continuous communication with research participants.

  • Coordinates the study-related interventions and the monitoring and management of these interventions in school and community settings.
  • Provides clinical consultation to ensure appropriate implementation of study interventions and treatments with both parents and teachers.
  • Implements and monitors positive behavior supports in schools and community settings.
  • Conducts home and/or school visits to meet with study participants.
  • Provides consultation to promote use of study treatment.
  • Establishes progress monitoring for study treatment evaluation.
  • Collects and manages observational data.
  • Supervises staff who are collecting observational data.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are related to the position.
  • Prepares materials for study visits for enrollment and data collection.
  • May recommend changes on policy and procedures as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience.

Departmental Requirements

Previous experience working with parents and elementary-aged children

Ability to travel to schools, community settings, and homes.

Desired Qualifications

Proficiency with database management

Master’s degree in a related field.
