Created in 2014, Early Career Psychologists (ECP) Workgroup of APA Division 16 seeks to address the needs of ECPs within Division 16. The ECP Workgroup is currently accepting applications for TWO positions: chair-elect and member-at-large. More detailed information about the ECP Workgroup may be found here.

Requirements:

Eligible candidates for these positions must: (a) be current members of Division 16 and (b) be ECPs for the entirety of the term, defined by APA as being within 10 years of receipt of a doctoral degree. The selected individuals will begin to serve in January 2022. Member-at-large will serve in that role for a two-year commitment. Chair-elect will serve in that role for one year and become chair in January of 2023 and past chair in January of 2024. We welcome applicants from all settings including practice settings. The responsibilities of each position are described below.

Chair-elect:

The Chair-Elect shall function as the Chair in the latter’s absence or incapacity. The Chair-Elect shall serve in other capacities as appointed by the Chair. Specific duties include proposing initiatives, supporting the Chair in committee work, interfacing (e.g., attending and updating) with the Committee on Early Career Psychologists (CECP), Division ECP leadership (ECP Leadership Network; ECPLN), and other State, Provisional, and Territorial affairs (SPTA). This is 1-year term and Chair-Elect shall become Chair at the end of the term of office.

Member-at-large:

The Workforce shall elect members-at-large who have a general concern for all aspects of school psychology as a professional discipline from the lens of an ECP. These members will attend all Workgroup meetings and collaborate on various projects to support the functioning of the workgroup. This is a 2-year term. Member will be selected based on application and appointment.
