POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN SCHOOL CONSULTATION RESEARCH 

Julie S. Owens, Ph.D., and Co-PI Steven W. Evans, Ph.D., Co-Directors of the Center for Intervention Research in Schools (www.oucirs.org) invite applications for 1-2 postdoctoral fellows. The one-to two-year fellowship is designed to prepare fellows for licensure in psychology and pursuit of a tenure-track position in academia. The fellow will play a leadership role in a randomized controlled trial (Goal 3) funded by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) evaluating two models of coaching and implementation supports for teachers’ use of universal and targeted classroom interventions for elementary school students. The Fellow will serve as a school-based consultant/coaching supporting teachers who are implementing universal and targeted classroom interventions for elementary school students, and will assist with project management, supervision of graduate and undergraduate students and staff, and have the opportunity to publish manuscripts from project data and other datasets. Candidates should have a doctorate in clinical, educational, or developmental psychology, school psychology, education, public health, or related discipline by the position start date. Candidates with experience in academic-community partnerships, school mental health research, clinical supervision, and/or consultation with teachers, are especially encouraged to apply. The Associate will play a leadership role in a randomized controlled trial funded by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) evaluating two models of coaching and implementation supports for teachers’ use of universal and targeted classroom interventions for elementary school students. The Associate will work in schools providing project-based consultation/coaching, supervising graduate students and staff, assisting with project management, and will have the opportunity to publish manuscripts (if desired). Candidates should have a Master’s degree with training and experience in problem-solving consultation with teachers and clinical supervision. The projected start date for this position is January 15, 2022. Owens, Ph.D., Co-Director of the Center for Intervention Research in Schools (www.oucirs.org) invites individuals with experience engaging in problem-solving consultation/coaching with teachers and/or supporting school professionals’ use of culturally-sensitive and equitable positive behavioral support strategies to apply for a Senior Research Associate opening with CIRS. The Associate will play a leadership role in a project funded by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) evaluating novel ways to leverage interactive technologies and training of school-based personnel to support teachers use of culturally-sensitive and equitable positive behavioral support strategies. The Associate will serve as a full-time consultant to school mental health staff (e.g., school psychologists, school counselors, intervention specialists) in elementary schools. Job duties include developing partnerships with school personnel, training those professionals in problem-solving consultation with teachers, motivational interviewing techniques, and use of culturally-sensitive and equitable positive behavioral support strategies. The Associate will also assist the team with the refinement of training procedures and measurement tools to assess project outcomes.
