Psychology at Children’s Health of Orange County (CHOC) is pleased to announce the availability of 1, with a possibility of 2 full-time psychologist positions.  We are seeking candidates with expertise in the assessment and intervention of a wide range of psychological presenting issues within the general community and pediatric medical population. The primary focus of the position will be program development, education of teachers and counselors & some limited student interventions within school districts.  As a consultant with schools, the psychologist will assist in improving universal prevention programs (ex. suicide prevention, social-emotional learning, etc.) and provide acute services consultation and training to school-based mental health professionals. There may be opportunities to see a limited number of outpatients including assessment and evidence-based intervention of children and adolescents, in a psychology clinic and/or telehealth settings (individual, family and group therapy).  In the outpatient setting, pediatric psychology at CHOC receives referrals from a wide variety of pediatricians, community partners.  Common referral concerns include depression, anxiety, disruptive behavior, attention issues, and learning challenges.

Candidates at all levels of experience will be considered. Candidates with knowledge and experience in school- or community-based psychology are preferred.  CHOC has a well-established training program, and the positions include opportunities to teach and supervise in our APA accredited doctoral internship, postdoctoral fellowship, and pre-doctoral practicum programs.  Positions also include opportunities to be involved in clinical research projects.

Completion of an APA-accredited doctoral program (clinical, counseling, or school) and an APA-accredited internship are required.  Candidates who have completed a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology or in a medical setting are strongly preferred. Candidates must be licensed or license eligible in the State of California.
